SYNOPSIS

Artist and printmaker John Hartman is renowned for his ability to weave narrative elements into his vast and vibrant landscape paintings. He has spent his career exploring the idea of how people and place are intimately linked and in this new series of work he turns his attention to prominent Canadian writers. The result is a striking collection of portraits that place the authors in a landscape that has been of great influence on them. This film takes the viewer into the world of the artist and the writers alike as it explores how creative minds help shape the way we see and identify with the landscapes that surround us.
